Bring on the Green!
Whether you're preparing your table for Easter brunch, a St. Patrick's Day dinner of corned beef and cabbage, or just having a simple supper with friends, March is a great time to set the table with greens.
Fresh herbs are available year-round and big, inexpensive bunches from the produce section of the grocery store. Choose herbs with a variety of leaf shapes: curly-leaf parsley, cilantro or flat-leaf parsley, rosemary sprigs, and basil are all great choices.
At home, bundle the herbs as you would a bunch of flowers. Trim the bottoms to even the stems just a bit. Stick your fragrant little bouquets into a variety of glassware or vases. Try old jelly jars, cider bottles, even a collection of small drinking glasses from the cupboard. Nothing has to match….that's the beauty of this simple little arrangement.
